Great men of God

Great men trust God

Luke 16:10-11 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? God wants to build a mighty work in in all men. However, for many, just in case that doesn’t work out they hold back a little. A preacher challenged a young man in his church to tithe. The man said I can’t pay all of my bills. The preacher said if I promise to pay the bills that you can’t will you tithe. The man said yes. The preacher then said how come you believe me when I promise to take care of you but you don’t believe God? God is challenging men today saying  “will you trust ME”? Great trust is developed in the unseen. Too many of us are waiting for God to reveal to us how He will fulfill His word. They want the raise first then they will be generous. That’s not how trust works.  For great men trust is an action word. It means to step out in faith believing God will fulfill His word. It means stepping out in faith when I don’t see the end. This verse reveals that for many of us trusting God with money, mammon, is most the difficult step. For some, it’s how they measure their success or failures in life. For others, it means security. What ever the reason, holding on tightly to money is the root cause of failure for many. Remember Jesus was able to produce money from the mouth of a fish (Matt 17:27). He will have no trouble meeting our needs.
